Whether you’ve read a few blogs or have never heard of one, this course will get you blogging. Find out how to write and manage a blog, what to include, who your audience is, and how you can even make money from blogging. Participants will have the opportunity to start their own blog.
Publishing a blog for either business or pleasure is both fun and productive and in this workshop, veteran blogger Amanda Kendle will help participants learn about using Wordpress to start their own blog, as well as demonstrating best blogging practice for writing, images and promotion.
If you run a business, a blog will help your website get significantly more search traffic, more time spent on your site and a huge increase in leads. A keystone of content marketing, a good business blog can give you the edge over your competitors as there are still so many businesses who haven’t understand how to use a blog effectively.
On the other hand, if you are curious about running a blog to showcase your writing, art or photography, or want to inform people about a specialist topic, or simply think it might be fun: you should blog! Many of our past students have gone on to run successful blogs on a huge variety of topics and this has brought them both personal satisfaction and recognition from others in the same area of interest.
Each participant will begin a blog by setting it up online in the free version of wordpress.com (which can be exported to a self-hosted blog), and writing the first post. We will also cover how to include images and videos and also discuss how you can make money from blogging, all while learning from the ideas of other prospective bloggers.
