Silvana Gaudieri

Dr Gaudieri completed her PhD in 1997 at UWA supported by an Australian Postgraduate Award. Following her PhD, Dr Gaudieri was awarded a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship by the Australian Academy and the Japanese Government to continue her research work in Japan with host Professor Takashi Gojobori at the National Institute of Genetics.After completing this fellowship, Dr Gaudieri returned to Australia to continue work at UWA with Professor Roger Dawkins and to take-up an NHMRC Howard Florey Centenary Research Fellowship. Following this two year fellowship Dr Gaudieri went to the Department of Pathology at the University of Cambridge, UK to work on MHC and disease with Professor John Trowsdale.
She has also been involved in the supervision of several PhD, Masters and Honours students and currently supervises six students from UWA. Dr Gaudieri also delivers lectures to both undergraduate and postgraduate students at UWA on topics such as Evolutionary Genetics and Forensic DNA analysis.
