Emmanuel Mollois
Resume
Emmanuel Mollois is being seen more and more on TV, an adventure that started with Poh’s Kitchen and has now expanded to his own cooking show on Channel 7.After completing an apprenticeship in cooking in Vendee, he worked his way up through various restaurants in France until he decided to move to Paris. After five years working in highly-rated gourmet restaurants specialising in pastry making, he and partner Gordana decided to travel the world and choose somewhere to settle down. Melbourne, Australia was the first stop and even though he couldn’t speak a word of English when he arrived, in no time he was working at La Brasserie, South Yarra followed by The Willows at St Kilda. Before long he began to understand not just the language, but Australian tastes.
After two years he crossed the Nullarbor to try the Perth lifestyle – and he’s never looked back. As head pastry chef at the Loose Box in Mundaring he has won numerous awards. In 2000 he created the award-winning Le Paris Brest Patisserie Francaise in Perth’s hills before deciding to move closer to the ocean. Since 2003 he has owned and run the Choux Café in Swanbourne – a small patisserie which was recently crowned ‘best in the west’ by the Sunday Times.
Apart from food, military antiques take up a lot of Emmanuel’s time, along with music; his passion for drums and old records is well known among his friends. Emmanuel is married to Gordana and has two sons and a daughter.
